Posting History (263)

In this day and age, I think this "stat" is a good one

to measure your program and coaching staff by. There's always going to be a few here and there, but there is kudos to be handed out to Pete and VT.

Cook Out has no business being above almost any of those

from a burger perspective. Culvers and Steak and Shake for the win.

The Arizona is moving, but

my two favorite places at PH are on the Missouri where Japan surrendered and in the control tower and listening to the talk. Highly recommend taking the Top of the Tower tour.

I know for every player

it's a different calculation, but I always wonder when I see these NIL stories, what is the number that would make them stay. And the potential to make the WCWS also has to be a factor. Does the incumbent program have to pay 1.2X or would 0.8X be enough? Obviously depends on a million different factors. Where X is the amount being paid by the new program. Of course, every situation is unique, but I definitely think a lot more about the calculus that these young kids are needing to go through to make these huge decisions. I pray they all have wise people AND people that love them advising them, because I think as someone said above, a lot of softball careers just ended today. That's sad.

When I watched it, I think Tenn. pitching coach(hat and brown ponytail)

said something to her. they go through the line and then Pannell and her cross paths and that coach puts her hand up to her mouth right as she and Pannell cross paths. Then Pannell reacts and it looks like 00 also reacts and then the TT folks get more fired up.

I have had this happen with various events

I think what happens is that you are watching the live broadcast from the beginning. As soon as it ends, that 'broadcast' stopped. So you would have to go and start up the "replay" broadcast. At least that's what I think happens.

Both B'burg and C'burg proms are that day.

Going to be a wild busy day in the NRV. Hope it's good weather for everybody.

Truly man's best friend.

There's a saying that I botch all the time that goes: "We give dogs time we can spare, space we can spare and love we can spare. And in return, dogs give us their all. It's the best deal man has ever made." **I looked it up this time to get it right.

I'm really struggling to predict

the way things are going to work. The number of available scholarships went up, but with NIL, generally, the money is all in one pile from school to school. SO, if you're school has decided to focus on Football/Basketball, then theoretically, every additional Softball, Soccer, Wrestling, Baseball, etc. scholarship deducts from the net available for the focus. I would love for our Athletic Department to put something out confirming their commitment to the "non-revenue" sports and their athletes. The net good times that Softball and Soccer has given me over the years vs. Football/Basketball isn't even close and I've been a season ticket holder for 25+ years.

I'm a Steeler's fan so take that into account

but I thought the ref'ing was particularly one-sided. The two on the offensive line at key points were ridiculous.

ABSOLUTELY!!

I've been on this bandwagon for over 5 years now. It's lonely. It really is a good solution. SEC and B1G would have to understand that it would end up bringing in more money than less. NCAA Premier Championship Division - Top 16 teams from last season(have to start somewhere). Set up a legit points system for all the various metrics and everyone plays 12 of the other teams and two of their historic rivals(no matter what division they are in). Then a 6 team playoff for the Championship(1 and 2 get byes). Bottom 4 are relegated to NCAA Premier Division 1. You could have 5 Divisions of "NCAA Premier". 80 teams. Each Division would end up having a championship game. Obviously things to work out with money and TV and etc., but it could work. Would also bring meaning to every single game during a season.

What's going on with the picture on this article?

The link is to CBS Sports which you would like to think has some small bit of journalistic responsibility vs. some fan page. But, the top image is of Franklin in Hokie gear with a backdrop of a full Lane Stadium or at least that's what I think it's trying to portray. The credit is Brian Bishop who is a local sports photographer and takes pictures of Tech Games. Does not seem like the kind of guy that is creating fake/AI images or photoshopping stuff. Looks like just a regular sports photography guy. Imagn Images appears to be the same thing. A legit photo place. What's up with that?

If I was the donor and loved VT, I'd call Monty's cell phone and

tell him to make the change. No way some donor required that and doesn't call them halfway through the ODU game.

Exactly!

I see it at all levels of coaching. Do the same thing and expect a different result.

This is the thing that drives me the most insane.

There is absolutely no incentive to run the ball unless you maybe catch it at the 15. How coaches don't get the concept that you get to start at the 25 for FREE is beyond me.

See Inside

If you've never been to Oahu, I'd recommend the following: 1. Pearl Harbor - Allow yourself almost the whole day. Don't skip the aviation part. Definitely take the Top of the Tower tour. really great perspective and gives you a great view and understanding of everything that happened. 2. Diamond Head State Park - Absolutely stunning views. Can get a little crowded. 3. Hanauma Bay - Great safe snorkeling location. Also can get a little crowded. 4. Koko Crater Stairs - A tougher test than the Diamondhead hike, but very cool. 5. Doors off Helicopter tour - The only way to do a helicopter ride in Hawaii. Those are some of our favorite things to do. I'd skip the Dole Plantation. I can tell you all about Kaui too, but have never been to Maui.

I know it's not the same Salem

but I agree they should have went with something related to that. RidgeYaks is terrible.

HC Wishlist - Top 3 - Tell me yours - As realistic as possible.

And only 3. Here's mine: 1. James Franklin 2. Eli Drinkwitz 3. Dan Mullen
