Visited Pearl Harbor again today
Such an honor to see the USS Arizona. I wanted to grab a photo that was unique and I grabbed one looking up at our flag still flying on her mast. Turned out better than I could have expected. If you ever get the chance, please visit and honor those boys entombed.

The Arizona is moving, but
my two favorite places at PH are on the Missouri where Japan surrendered and in the control tower and listening to the talk. Highly recommend taking the Top of the Tower tour.

Worked on Oahu and drove by it every day
Very sobering, indeed. Now I drive by Arlington Cemetery three days a week on the way to the pool. When my kids swim at the O Club at Ft Myer, used to see the caissons setting up for funerals. Never fail to feel a little emotion every time you go by these things even when it's part of your daily life. Also kind of sobering to go to work in a building on Hickam and see bullet holes in the walls.

My dad (FPHNCRIP) retired at Myer after 27 years active duty. We swam at
that pool in the early 1960s. My parents are both at rest in ANC.

I will think of them when I pass by!
The pool is still there. They have a regular pool and a long course pool that is something like 47meters.

One of the things I'm most proud of in my career
Is being a part of a photo book on ANC throughout the seasons. From cultivating a relationship with the author so he'd sign with our tiny little company, to going through years and years and thousands upon thousands of photographs with him, and to working with him on creating the theme and organization. It ended up being an outstanding book and never fails to move me when I browse through it, even 20 years later.
