Not surprised that it went against VT, but disappointed as that definitely had a huge impact on the outcome of the game. Great weekend for the Hokie Ladies anyways.

If the rule is the runner must remain in contact with the bag until the ball leaves the pitcher's hand, then this is indisputable and not even a judgement call. Fortunately the call likely didn't impact the outcome, but inexcusable.

Ump is right there in proper position, inline with the runner and the pitcher. Easy call. It's not even close.
