Her nickname is the "Boone Blaster" and she was named Times News/Johnson City Press Northeast Tennessee Sweet 16 player of the year for the second straight year.
She broke the Tennessee state record with 25 home runs this season, a total that puts her No. 7 on the all-time national list.

There are a ton of pitchers in the portal so potentially, Coach D’Amour could add one of those to simply have experience. That’s probably the prudent thing to do, but he’s way smarter than I am.
I do believe List and Grein are outstanding prospects, but they are both freshman, and you never know about freshmen.
The next couple of months will be very interesting.

where the program is now. I would think talented kids would want to come to VT. If one of the two incoming freshman pitchers or both and can play or contribute right away. It could be a pretty exciting year next season. I love what I am reading about List. Thank you Chip.

That's per D1 softball.
I would imagine every single coach scans it every day to see if there is anyone that could help them.
I don't know of any specifics, but I do know Coach D'Amour is a pretty sharp cookie, so I imagine he has his eyes open.

while he may not be Chip and he is annoying as hell in game chat, I believe he did in fact answer your question. You identified List and at present I think pro is saying it could be List or Grein and the actual answer will not come in to focus until the fall. While it might be a very longshot, even though Mac and Ivy are in the portal there is still a chance they could be back until they actually go somewhere else.

At least not in Pete's tenure. Women's Soccer and Volleyball do this extensively, partly because they are Fall-competing sports.

The Fall Practices are really critical to helping them adjust to the university and team. Coach Pete can evaluate the freshman to see if they are line to really help the team in February, like Peck and Lemley were this past season

mid year freshman enrollees for spring sports make almost no sense unless they fill a specific and urgent line up need and, even then, there is likely to be a better option, physically and developmentally, to be found in the portal.
