I want to say this is an easy call but we’re talking about the NCAA here

The rules committee will probably set about with the intention of doing something positive, but in keeping w the NCAA’s infinite wisdom, will probably end up only further convoluting the situation. I could see them saying something like “having one foot 4 inches or more off the ground will be considered illegal.” Yeah. Cool. So now we also ask the umps to take out their invisible tape measures to decide when to make the call. The EASY solution is to just come in line w the international rule and do away w it altogether. Unless there is a replant/crow hop. But, because that is the easy, logical, and sensible thing to do, you can rest assured it definitely will not be the route taken by the NCAA. This is sad, but true, and we all know it. This is yet another shining example of the NCAA just begging to be rendered irrelevant by super conferences breaking away from it.

Midlo, I respectfully disagree. Crow hopping can be fixed. I was softball

I would hope that Emma's pitching motion is reviewed.

This, as long as the pitcher stays in the circle

Agree. That might be a fair tweak and compromise, of sorts.

We also have to keep in mind, who this potential rule change helps/hurts

I liked the point the announcers made in the regional versus Kentucky. If

Unlike baseball the pitch comes from an underhand motion
