Hmmm; so much the matter with this thread but . . .

most seems to stem from the fact that many here are 'Johnny come lately' softball fans. The illegal pitch controversy has existed for at least the 25 years I've been involved in the game. Emma's leaping is illegal but a lot a different than literally hundreds of other pitchers I've watched over that time. Her leaping is not really 'fixable' at this point. It's part of her muscle memory that has resulted in her success. It can be 'treated' but like a chronic condition will always be there. The NCAA is not some outside group but rather rules are generated by a rules committee that is made up of coaches and athletic administrators. That group annually suggests rule changes to the larger body. Google "NCAA Softball Rules Committee" to find latest reports than include members names.

I would hope that Emma's pitching motion is reviewed.

I want to say this is an easy call but we’re talking about the NCAA here

This, as long as the pitcher stays in the circle

Agree. That might be a fair tweak and compromise, of sorts.

We also have to keep in mind, who this potential rule change helps/hurts

I liked the point the announcers made in the regional versus Kentucky. If

Totally read that in my Jenny Dalton Hill voice in my head, lol**

Unlike baseball the pitch comes from an underhand motion
