If baseball is charging for ACC games only, then softball should charge as well since Title IX states when you add a new men's sport you must add another women's sport, being equal on incoming revenue for both sports should be considered. From a financial standpoint it should be considered to help the program purchase the latest and greatest softball technology for our program, and our pitching coach Josh Johnson. The research he is doing in his doctorate at VT is amazing stuff. He is on the forefront of the latest technology on measuring the biomechanics of our pitchers, and wants to do more with this technology for position throwers and hitters. This equipment costs $150,000 and currently he is borrowing VT's equipment for his studies and development of our pitchers and using it during the pitching biomechanics camps he has hosted recently. Virginia Tech is a powerhouse science, math and technology school and should be backing and funding this technology for both baseball and softball to develop our programs to be cutting edge and on top of this research and in the development of our baseball and softball programs.
