Seeing a school like ND as they're desperately trying to disassociate with the ACC and Stanford being a "top 25 athletic program" is a big blow to these figures. Anyone putting an athletic conference together right now is taking Oregon State, Boise and Fresno before Stanford. That's not even a hyperbolic response, as a Californian I would suggest Sacramento State before Stanford. The only people that consume Stanford games are Notre Dame fans. The ACC seems to be willingly falling on a double-edged sword.

Pretending that all sports carry a unit measure rather than a weighted measure based on actual consumption is the issue with your position. The BigXII has better attendance and ratings in all the sports that make money. I genuinely don't understand your personal alliance with the ACC. WVU has had an open invite since Maryland left, 10 years after VT's invite. VT was rejected for 55 years and now they're ready to leave you for greener pastures and you believe you owe them something? VT is a stronger brand those about to cast you aside. VT is stronger than the ACC.

That series was just a convenient counterpart to the USC annual series.
It was an opportunity to end each season in California.
Now? Not so much. Note that there are no future Stanford games on the ND schedule.

Which is where all of Stanford's television ratings are sourced

So we do not need to be included in that ACC section

why exactly would the ACC lobby for ND over Miami in football?

And it seems just semantics as to whether ND is in or out.
For someone who claims to be a "non member," they certainly have a lot of say.

you do not need to be included nor should you be here doing your whiny little ***** impersonation.

You always seemed so balanced and rationale. Never emotional. Then you just seemed to lose your mind. It Is genuinely surprising to me that you did not understand that ND FB was not in the ACC and that the ACC had the right to promote its own FB schools.

Seems like it could work at Pitt and Syracuse, however. Not sure why they don't have it.
I've posted several times that ND and BC should play home and home and get those games onto the ACCN somehow.
Or, better yet if we could get all of BC's home games onto the ACCN somehow. I'm sure contractual issues keep any of that from happening.

and a couple schools sponsors 2 or 3 teams. I think all the teams compete in the ACCHL (no connection with the ACC) too, so some familiarity already exists among the schools. If the ACC was interested in sponsoring the sport, then that could be used as a potential source as schools are building their foundation for their programs.
It is worth noting there are a lot fewer women's ice hockey teams at the NCAA and club levels. I know VT has a women's club team who I think competes in the ACCHL too, but I don't think the same is true with the rest of the ACC teams. If the ACC wants to sponsor men's ice hockey, then it would only make sense to sponsor women's ice hockey too for Title IX purposes. Particularly since they could share the facilities to reduce cost.

is part of the ACC.
Nothing different from UConn. UConn football is independent but UConn is part of the Big East.
