There are conflicting accounts whether the game will count against ND's ACC scheduling obligation or not. I think the safest assumption at this point, because it's the most equitable, is that when Clemson is already in the rotation for ND as part of the ACC scheduling obligation, the game counts toward the five games they have to play each year against ACC opponents. When they aren't, it will not. If it ends up being the game counts vs. the five ACC games no matter what, then burn this dumbass conference to the ground.

Everyone here looks at it from the ACC perspective, but from here, it appears that ND is shoring up their home games no matter what happens to your conference. NBC is paying a lot of money, and those MAC schools may not be cutting it for NBC. Add in the rotation of the lower ACC schools, and NBC is probably saying, WTH. If ND inks another long term scheduling agreement with a Miami, LSU, USC, or some other "brand", then they are shoring up their schedule long term no matter what the SEC, BIG, or ACC does in the future. They may even take a look at a BYU (not that that would help the B12 in any way shape or form). FOX and ESPN would most definitely welcome any such arrangement with any school they have the rights too.

the B1G doing the same with the 4 AQ's most likely, it will be harder for ND to schedule either the SEC or B1G. Maybe that's one reason why they are doing the Clemson scheduling. *Several recent articles saying it is likely with 4 AQ spots for the SEC and B1G.

happens, and the top ACC schools go to the P2. There just won't be a lot of blue bloods with room on their schedules for the other power schools not included in the P2. I don't think ND will have difficulties scheduling top schools, but games against USC in the future are in question. If you are NBC, you want the top matchups. There are a number of BIG schools like Michigan that have a history with ND, and I don't think FOX or NBC would mind a long term arrangement, but the BIG could not very accommodating moving forward. If you want to be independent, and compete for national championships, you have to have the ability to play the top schools. Clemson now has USCe and ND on their schedule - as their OOC games when not in rotation. That's pretty strong, and sets them up for an at large if they aren't the top two schools in the ACC.

ND could care less about the ACC, and the future of the ACC (and I share that sentiment, frankly.) All they're doing is parking their non-rev sports in the ACC until a bigger sucker/better deal comes along, and they'll be gone to the next thing.

Because only real way to save ND quasi Indy status is for ACC survival. The ACC getting more money probably helps ND long term. In long run Clemson comes out real good. That said Clemson has carried ACC for last 15 years.

1 ACC future schedule will adjusted to concentrate ND playing of the top brands of the ACC and less with the other brands. More times with Miami FSU clemson and Maybe NC the rest of of us might not see ND again or less likily playing like in wake VT Cuse.... We will see. Then clemson bay a separate deal so the years they dont play ND in rotation of they play ND as well and not count towards the five acc games. But out of the confusion, its simple, for ACC to max out more revenue to the brand schools, they have to generate more ratings, and if the ACC brnad schools get NDi it WILL be in either ABC or ESPN and htat returns more money to the brand schools. That's the price to keep ESPN in the game, AND keep the ACC toghher at lest it 2031

not every year. In those years, Clemson will be the 6th ACC game on the ND schedule. I think the ACC rotation for ND is to have 2 of the following 3 every year: FSU, Miami, Clemson. I could be wrong though.
