The more I've sat on this the more I like the potential here. Have a premier division that is only initially established based on some weighting of the last 3-4 years. Then the bottom 1 or 2 premier finishers gets relegated down to the other division while the top 1-2 from the other division move up. The 1-2 would be dependent on how many teams are in the 2 divisions. A 5 team premier division probably only sees the last team get relegated but maybe a 7 team premier division has the bottom 2 get relegated. Thoughts?

I actually don't hate this idea. But Miami and UNC have won a total of zero ACC championships in the expansion era. Not sure they rate being in the top league. I like an other idea that I heard to let the teams that finish in the Top 5 be the 5 teams that play ND the next year. Probably too merit based for any of the risk-adverse suits in the ACC to support it.

ND isn't in the ACC, so that guy must be a non-football watching idiot. A total moron! Imbecile! F$U has absolutely sucked lately, and they were excluded from the playoff the one year they were great. That shouldn't have happened, but it did. And the ACC rolled over and took it. Miami only gets results when they have a man in the replay booth who puts a very heavy thumb on the scale. They actually lost at least two games last year that were incorrectly decided to be wins. Miami isn't any better than they've been since joining the ACC. Now if you want to only use data older than 20 years, then sure, count Miami in. UNC - laughable. Don't think they've fielded a decent football team since 1998. Once again, that TigerNet poster is an idiot.

If ND leaves, the house of cards collapses. The ACC does not hold the leverage in the ND/ACC relationship.

protect rivalries in a a crossover game or two, and just follow the rest of the plan. I hate any AQs that aren't conference champions, but I don't think 2 auto bids for the ACC is a bad deal.
