They have always come across as content with their position on the college football totem pole.
Stay a bus league.
Lose 14 of 16 games a year to power conferences schools, and savor the 2 wins.
We're in the realignment phase where schools will change conferences for a utility infielder's annual salary.

that FBS is changing so fast, and the gap is getting larger, there is no way that ANY G5 school is content.
Don't think for one solitary second that the lower FBS schools want to be left behind. There is a reason FCS schools are scrambling to get into the FBS, and it is not to be content with buy in games.
Utility infielders have a minimum salary, and they play on major league dirt.
Division one FBS athletics is the front porch of the university, and to discount the donations, regional support, and student recruitment because of athletics ignores so much of what made college athletics popular in the first place.
JMU didn't invest all that money in their facilities and programs to ride in the back of the bus.

Let football do whatever crazy crap they want. It's only one game a week, 12 games a year, and only have to travel for 5-6 games. So sure, join whatever geographic conference you want.
But keep all the other sports tied geographically. It's less travel for the student athletes, uses regional rivalries, and just makes sense for every sport that is not football.

I don't think it will happen for the "P4", but it might be a way for the G5 to be more competitive.
What if, for example only, the Big East offered VT a place for all sports, and the Big 10 offered a football only membership? We know that will not happen, but if you bring it down to the G5, it screams off the page.

current situation; GOR. Given the existence of conference networks, what will be their content during football season particularly if they don't sponsor football? Also, there is the issue of trying to determine the "value" of the "football conferences" vs. "non-football conferences."

Virginia Tech should be playing WVU in Olympic Sports, itâs a no brainer. The interest would be high and help every sport, just like us playing UVA in every sport. People will pay to watch those close by rivalry games in person, and they would help ratings for the ACC network for instance. The Conferences are so spread out, most games in Olympic Sports have very little interest. Stop building the schedule around what works for football, and I love football.

I thought Oliver Luck and Weaver had an agreement to play on a yearly basis. No idea what happened? I remember playing a couple of bball games a few years ago but thatâs it.

Why not Administrations? Our AD worked at WVU, it would help both schools recruit. Athletes want to play in games with passionate rivals. This is exactly why the SEC dominates, even though most of their schools are in small to mid-size markets.
PS The Sunbelt has recently figured this out too.

to FBS. As a Toledo fan, I can tell you that there is no future in the MAC. Since FBS has expanded to almost 140 teams, recruiting has become much more difficult, especially with the SBC conference.
Travel for the fans? Haha, they don't travel to Bowling Green, so really, when you have nothing, you have nothing to lose.

"sources" have told me it will be the next time the AAC has to expand. Maybe I should start a B12 podcast or You Tube channel, as we certainly need more of those in the world.
