One of the main complaints from FSU/Clemson is how the other ACC schools invest very little back into the football program despite equal revenue sharing. This chart (although seeming askew) demonstrates that FSU/Clemson is spending more than double what other ACC programs invest into football. Not sure too many wise businessmen in this world would desire to be in an association where more than 3/4 of the other members are investing half of what they do while asking for the same returns. I see FSU/Clemson calling such a "free coat tail ride". They are somewhat correct like it or not. You get what you pay for.

I'd like to know the qualifiers, and how they compiled this, but I'm not disputing the findings - I'd just like to see the breakdown. I'd also like to see athletic budgets as a whole put into a graph as well, but even that can be misleading. For instance - are we talking salaries? Stadiums? Number of personnel? Cost of scholarships? Institutional support, and numerous other factors. We do know that players salaries and NIL are not included, right? What exactly is that money spent on, and who reported those numbers? I am from the camp that conferences should have a minimum amount that should be spent for football, a bar for facilities, and a number of other factors. I think FSU and others that have been investing into their programs have a legitimate gripe, especially when others in the conference seem to just cash the checks, and nothing ever changes. Also, I'd be interested in the comparison before the recent realignment started with Texas and Oklahoma. Spending for one year for some (Duke?) does not show how they have invested in the past - which would be very telling.

These graphic numbers are not fully accurate by any means. It was pointed out by others that some of this data will include capital expenses and some data does not, while NIL costs from Collectives are not available for example. I was surprised by Miami being that high in 2023 however, Hmmmmmm. Their NIL funding is big. Just no results on the field yet. But yes, the spending differences are significant between the top of the chain to the rest. Yet revenue sharing is equal. Not a good formula for business. The Duke football facilities are not far off from some high school levels. Worst locker room I have ever been in.

How much do you want to bet KU's facility spending next year shows up in those numbers, and they will be at the top - like TCU who just spent a fortune on their stadium. All that being said, there should not be a large disparity in the football budgets in any conference. The MAC appears to be the only conference left that is actually acting like a conference.

I have also seen a video where John, George & Ringo, are sitting down at a dining table and remark, 'Where is Billy at? I don't know if Paul McCartney died or not? However a good plastic surgeon could get the job done with similar looking people from the get go. The Beatles were a cash cow nobody wanted to see ended by a car crash. Phil Lynott got kicked out of Skid Row by Brush Shiels. Shiels wanted a power trio (ZZ Top is power trio most would know) and Lynott was the 4th man out as the vocalist. Gary Moore (legendary British rock guitarist) was the lead guitarist in Skid Row and took Lynott under his wing after he was kicked out, teaching Lynott how to play bass. Lynott took his bass playing and formed Thin Lizzy around it. becoming a big international rock band. Greg Rolie & Neal Schon left Santana to form Journey. Rolie & Schon left after Santana's 4th album. The first three Santana records are hard rock must haves. However there was always a battle within that band early on between members wanting hard rock and others that wanted the Latin tinged jazz. Carlos himself favored the jazz. By the 4th record, those wanting the jazz had won out. That is why Schon & Rolie left. Of course Santana went on to have great commercial success with the jazz tinged records. Journey was also a huge band in popularity back then. Correct, a book could be written on these bands that shuffled members for the betterment of music & otherwise. Anthony was just a little odd due to his decades in Van Halen during their glory years to be dumped in their twilight.

25 million to make the CFP CG would still have them behind a B1G or SEC school that doesn't even make a bowl game for that year. Plus, FSU is probably looking for guaranteed money. It might be too little too late.

to be competitive with the P2? I would like to see something like that in the B12 as well, as there is a lot of parity in that conference, and I say, let the spoils go to the programs that invest and perform.

The best thing the ACC could have done to keep the conference together would have been to renegotiate a new TV contract. Unfortunately, they signed an ESPN contract in 2016 that was supposed to run for 20 years and ESPN is not interested in paying more now. It's a big reason ESPN has not yet extended the contract yet past 2026. With that known, the ACC should have been shopping networks for any type of new deal. I believe they have to a degree but no network is biting. The only way to make ACC teams like FSU and Clemson get the money the P2 is offering is through another TV deal. Otherwise, everyone in the ACC is about to fall $30-$40 million behind the P2 annually. There is no fix at this point.
