VA and UVA are holding us back
UVA president’s court document says he, Sands and presidents of Duke, Wake, Syracuse and BC agreed to sue FSU without consulting the rest of the ACC. Look at that group. Bunch of smaller schools with terrible football programs that have no shot of getting into the P2. We are the outlier.
UVA being hellbent on suing FSU is proof that the rumors of SEC and Big 10 wanting them are false. That’s because we’re much better option. We know VA politicians want Tech and UVA in the same conference. Therefore the only reason why Sands is on team UVA has to be VA forcing us to stay on the sinking ACC ship with them.

be appointed soon, and they won't be on it.

Both UVa and VT should be on-their-own.
Trying to get BOTH into one conference will be difficult. And I don't think one school should be held back on the account of the other.

and VT in the Big 12 playing nobody (excepting WVU) that anybody in the main VT fan areas care as much about as they currently do BC and Cuse.
Face it, this has nothing to do with athletic competitiveness. It has all to do with hoo is connected to whom (cough UNC) as a patron and at this point and the perception of a bunch of couch potatoes in the northeast and west coast. And UVA is just a bigger national name in those places.
I have said this before that this "national brand" stuff is aimed at the person who never goes to a college game but probably bets and channel surfs. What names will get that person to pause long enough to watch an advertisment to go buy something.

worked in 2003, and thus far, it is working now.
PS I think they would love to be in the same Conference, but the most important thing is they both make a P2. They both more than deserve it too!

Should one advocate for the other? Sure. But, as you indicated, turning down a good move because the other school didn't get invited is dumb.

True. And modern realignment is trending away from taking two per state.
I wish it wasn't so, but it is.
Sure, there are some programs, like USC, that can bring one more along. But I'm afraid VT nor UVa are one of them.
UNC might be one of those who can bring a strap hanger. And that strap hanger might be UVa, or NC State, or Duke. But I can already see that in that scenario, that UNC coattails won't be long enough to get the Hokies an invite if UVa is already on board.
OTOH, I think VT would be well suited to offer access to the state of Virginia for the conference that doesn't end up with UNC and UVa. This may be the Big Ten. There has not been much realignment chatter about VT to the B1G, but it isn't far-fetched. And VT brass should be working the phones.
Lastly, I have a hunch that both FSU and Clemson are headed to the B1G. I've always thought that we should be hitching our wagons to those two football-first schools (as opposed to the old order, tobacco road types). So now would be the perfect time to do it.

If they jump to a P2 conference, they'll have a massive financial edge over Dook from now until eternity, and completely dominate them in ever sport.

Dr ryan was elected as chairman; unc president was elected v chairman but he left for wisc . The duke pres was elected to replace the unc guy
As exective board they were elected fo rep the entire board on executive things. Non material lawsuits are covered . All fhe presidents kmow that and voted . Its not arbitrary.
The term expires after 2024 spring meetings - i wonder if vt and uva leaves. And who stands in their place.

Those schools represented on it are dug in on the ACC and/or don’t have other options currently (mostly meaning current prospects for Big10 & SEC are not favorable).
