Florida State ACC Battle Intensifies in Round 2

“The recent Florida State ACC battle just intensified. On Thursday, Blue Bloods Bias (@bluebloodsbias) broke news via “X” that Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody has requested that the ACC release public copies of their Grant of Rights, agreements between the Conference & ESPN, and ALL official bylaws.”
It seems to me that these documents involving public institutions should have been released to the public from the very beginning.

I have read that the ESPN deal is kept at ACC headquarters, and can only be viewed, in-person, under ACC supervision. The GOR is more available.

That would be the part I’m most interested in. But it is a contract so I highly doubt the public ever sees a complete copy.

There is probably some 100 year old law about states, public institutions and criminal acts committed by corporations that some AG will trot out and hang over the head of the ESPN execs LOL
It's fun to speculate.

These documents are available to FSU as part of discovery. They will be the core of the legal case. Whether or not the public has a need or right to see these documents is questionable. Ultimately it will be up to the judge.

“SMU, the latest Group of Five program to elevate to the Power Five next year with its jump to the ACC, is at the heart of a CFP money fight. In the past, schools making the jump from Group of Five to Power Five also saw a leap in their distribution from the College Football Playoff. The difference in annual payout between G5 teams ($1 million) and P5 teams ($6 million) is substantial. However, after a discussion among CFP commissioners on Nov. 9, SMU did not garner the necessary support for additional revenue distribution. The issue has now been shifted to the commissioners’ corresponding presidents on the CFP Board of Managers, the playoff’s highest governing body made up of a school president from each FBS conference and Notre Dame.”

... what ever bit of "illogic" to justify their action. One year, they will use some reason to say pay a university, yet the next year they would turn that reason upside down to deny a school.
What I would like to know why does the committee think SMU peed in their corn flakes.

My VT dreams notwithstanding, I kinda hope SMU wins a national title.
Just pull the bank trucks of oil money up to the football facility or whatever. Would be awesome.
This is the way they treat someone who come back from the death penalty. Still waiting for UNC and PSU to get the death penalty, but I digress.

Sthe years. Expanding the playoffs is good for everyone, mostly the P2, but also for the other teams. FSU is right, the ACC has proven time and time again they don't understand how important football is to their revenue. Adding BC, Syracuse, Pitt, Stanford, Cal, and SMU really doesn't make sense. Really, SMU probably makes the most sense from a football perspective.

They are unlawfully keeping these documents locked away in North Carolina. However, North Carolina and Florida state laws are clear that these agreements are public records and must be handed over immediately.
