How many votes are needed for expansion?
Currently there are 10 votes for yes and 5 for no but how many are needed to pass expansion?

FSU, Clemson, UNC, NC State and UVa. So the conspiracy theorist in me thinks that these four schools already have a landing spot. My best guess would be the first four to SEC (Carolina needs State to make move?) and UVa going with Stanford to B1G??? Who the hell knows.

I have a hard time believing that Miami and possibly VT are not part of the NO vote.

doesn’t include those 8. Some don’t believe anything unless it has 12, but anything less than 8 would likely be financial suicide for the athletic departments IMHO. So your guy may have heard some of the pieces, but not the whole story.
I am sure his connections are much better with conferences in that part of the country.

my one and two if the ACC implodes. I think the SB is going to surprise some people. I've always said, if you want to find tough football players, follow schools that are in the Appalachian Mountains. Just like Virginia Tech and West Virginia University. The SB has some great matchups coming that should be barn burners. If we can't get into the SEC, sign me up!
PS The B12 might be able to get something close to that, if the ACC implodes, but will they send the non-revs coast to coast during the regular season? I simply hate that and I would rather VT be in the SEC or SB where they are closer and in the same time zone.

If one day the ACC implodes (unlikely) and SEC or Big Ten doesn’t work out I’m positive WVU will push extremely hard for VT in the Big 12. I know it would be less than ideal but if say three other eastern teams are added it could be more palpable with less trips west. I get what you’re saying about the Fun Belt but unfortunately it won’t pay the bills.

We know for a fact that FSU and Clemson will keep voting NO.
And NCSU will probably stay NO.
So there is no room for anyone else to have concerns. I think it is too much to overcome.

out of ESPN overnight, it could happen for the right price. Likely won't though.
I saw one "insider" post that No's were FSU, Clemson, NCSU, and VT. UNC, UVa, ND were putting on the press to VT & NCSU last night.

They are the Utah & Arizona State of the ACC. Bubba Cunningham showed his ACC allegiance when he publicly went after FSU.

Those are my only guesses because no other reasons make any sense.
My prediction, ACC says no
Cal tries to go to B12
Stanford goes independent for now
WSU and OSU go Mountain West

It seems like joining the Mountain West is the best option. Get them to kick out Hawaii and bring in SMU. Call it the PAC. Maybe that.
I'd love to go to that first Cal at Wyoming game. The battle for the MAGA cup! LOL.

Very bad fit for multiple reasons even at a reduced payout for the Bears. Best option for them is to add at least two American schools (SMU, Tulane?) asap to get to six for new Pac 12 then add 4-6 other schools (Mountain West?) the next year.
