every year. The biggest thing that people don't get is even in down years, these games are a lot of fun. (Yes great ratings too} Alabama and Ohio State have dominated their rivalries of late, but people still watch because the underdog may not win a lot, but when they do, the memory is for a lifetime. In that raspy Deep South voice, who can forget? "Auburn is going to win the football game...Auburn is going to win!"

They were rehashing the vt wvu games and saying this the last game with wvu. But bill mentioned with all the conference realignments that is to be determined . Am i reading something into it..???

May the better team win. The winner will keep the Black Diamond trophy for many years to come. It's a damn shame it's not scheduled every year going forward.

Tech adds WVU to UVa, Pitt and Wake WVU plays Pitt, VT, Cuse and Loserville. Hell we'll even take Wake off your hands so you can play the Canes. WVU fans would love to play Pitt and VT every year.

The 30 year record is 15-15 and many of those games mattered. Now if we get WVU every year, I will calm down some, but times a wasting on that. Get er done!!!!

another rivalry impacted by a decision of a school to leave a conference so it can join another conference. Maybe some day it will resume on a limited basis or eventually become a conference game. I guess Tulsa will now become Oklahoma State's main rival. I know they are scheduled to play each other from 2024 to 2031. It will be interesting to see if Oklahoma State turns that into an annual game after 2031.

Right now the SEC isn't interested and Oklahoma has no desire to help. However, what we don't know is how the future will play out. Right now college athletics is heading down a path where it appears it will be either a P2 World or P2 G8 World (at least in football). Likewise, we don't know how big the Big Ten and SEC will get in the future in terms of membership. There could come a day when the Big Ten and SEC are so large that they end up breaking up into at least 2 conferences. For the SEC, that could mean LSU, Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, and TAMU form their own conference along with a couple new members to get the membership number to a certain level. This is where a school like Oklahoma St or Kansas could come into play particularly if these conferences return to their regional roots. Now of course that assumes that the Big Ten and SEC are already off doing their own thing and they eventually find some common ground that results in a collaboration in terms of how the money is divided up. Currently that isn't possible because both are trying to pick their side. What will happen though when the dust settles and they are the only 2 left standing? Could history repeat itself like what we saw with the AFL-NFL or ABA-NBA merger? Now I'm not suggesting the 2 conferences will merger together. I could see them forming a partnership to try to maximize the amount of money everyone makes assuming Congress is will to grant them a waiver for violating antitrust laws. That's what led me to the possibility of the Big Ten and SEC breaking up into smaller "regional conferences" because the threat of competition is no more if everyone is working together (see the NBA, NHL, NFL, MLB, and MLS).

Pickens was matching Oklahoma on football investment and now being left out, Does Oklahoma State need all that football money to me a middle of the pack Big 12 school with their prime rival is Tulsa (American Conference).... What's the Return of Investment.

maintain the same investment with football or risk falling behind AAC, ACC, other Big XII, C-USA, MAC, MWC, Pac-12, or Sun Belt teams in this G8 World. Essentially nothing really has changed in terms of the demand. Only which school is serving as the Joneses.
