The other Conferences I assume think ESPN/SEC and Fox/B1G are going to talk them up if you are in another Conference and doing well! Seriously, why would they do that, when you don’t help ratings/money? You had your chance to stick together and vote all Conference Champions in, and you just rolled over for ESPN/SEC, Fox/B1G and NBC/ND. I really don’t want to hear it when you get little to no schools in the playoff. You have no one to blame, but your naive self.

Which included the 6 top ranked conference champions. That's good for the ACC.

best that they could hope for. And now that they realize the B1G was not a "true" partner in The Alliance, they signaled that they are willing to flip. Amazing that they let the B1G hood wink them the first time,

that the Big 10 would destroy a longtime partner like the Pac12. These schools have been competing in one form or another since Kaiser Bill went to Morocco. Shame on me for being a naif.

of the playoff. I'm assuming the greedheads currently running college football want this thing to be seen as a real playoff by the public, not just some coronation of SEC and Big 10 teams.

just to act like they are to get the vote, so they can get more power and money.
When the SEC and B1G dominate the playoff by having their networks brain wash the audience that no other Conference team is deserving, the other FBS programs have no one to blame, but themselves, since they bought the lie and voted for it.
Well played by the bullies on the block!!

dominate in all aspects and deservedly so. Giving them more proportional money for playoff does nothing more. It does give non-SEC/B1G some valuable playoff $ and an easier path to playoff (6 automatic bids). At some point there is diminishing returns on $. Not so if players start getting that money more directly but at that point a lot of movement would occur.

let the B1G tell them how to vote - even when it was not in their best interest.

ESPN, Fox and NBC. I believe you said you want out of the ACC and join the SEC, but that’s not going to happen for a long time, if ever. Be careful what you wish for, because it can make you miss the opportunity that you have now.

Seems not.
The Big Ten played the Pac 12 and the ACC like a kettle drum.

What exactly are the formal obligations agreed to in the formation of "The Alliance"? There seems to be a widespread belief that some sort of treason has been committed.
As far as I know, the Alliance was to be used as a foil against ESPN's total ownership of the CFP. In that regard it may have succeeded.
I made broad assumptions about what could be achieved with this kind of cooperation among conferences, and what they might attempt in the future. Those assumptions were manufactured in my head. A useful entertainment, but assumptions, to be sure.
Now, apparently any move, statement, or decision by The B1G is labelled as a disloyal violation of The Alliance. But anybody who thinks they know what was agreed to in The Alliance has manufactured that information in their imagination.

Will it exist at allafter the Big Ten destroys the Pac-12 (10)??
It was merely a PR stunt in response to the SEC move and a way for the Big Ten to con the other two Alliance members.

I see so many posts by people who seem genuinely angry about the alliance and/or the perceived betrayal. An actual alliance ( and maybe this still exists) will help minimize the chaos as college sports reorganize themselves.

too stressed until you see it actually happen and you see the details and the fine print. Could just be McMurphy in his usual fashion throwing something against the wall to see if something sticks. He is like a lot of media, a useless putz hunting clicks.

the station. ESPN/SEC, Fox/B1G and NBC/ND seem to have no interest in spreading the power and money.

Switch around what you are suggesting ND should do and tell me the ACC would do that.
"We want the ACC to voluntarily decline getting an automatic bid so that ND gets more at large chances. We want the ACC to strongly support this idea."
Why wouldn't the ACC favor that?
Why not? Wouldn't that be "spreading the power and money" ??
Shouldn't the ACC get behind this idea for the good of the game?
(You are asking a non-ACC football member to support a system that favors the ACC but weakens its own playoff chances,.....because why, exactly?)

at large? That would have been in their self interest, bar the SEC, B1G and ND (still can't believe you get the same number of votes as the soon to be 16 SEC and 16 B1G). However, that's still 8-3 which is all you need in a couple of years.
It would have probably ended most if not all Conference invading, made it so every conference gets a team in and the ratings would have been off the hook nationally since every region area basically has someone playing. Not to mention that Cinderella will win every now and then, giving the smaller programs some hope.
I have my theory, but I want to hear yours first. because you are very good at win-lose versus win-win philosophy.

but, if it does it will come with a price as the CFP is the last leverage the remainder of the P5 and G5 have over the 2 heavyweights. You don't surrender your last chip lightly, IMO.

SEC goes to 16 early just in time for an expanded playoff. And the B12 gets a chance to lure key PAC teams away with the same timing.
Well played cfb power brokers. Well played.
