If it works out for WVU to join the ACC in the future that's great but if it doesn't that's fine too. Personally I could care less for the ACC other than our two biggest historical rivals are in the conference. I would prefer to be in a conference with Pitt and Va Tech. I could care less about UVa and the Carolina mafia. They have kept us out for almost seventy years and we're ok without them. Another thing I dislike about the ACC is the Notre Dame partial membership. I hated it in the Big East as well. I bet most Va Tech fans feel the same way. My best guess is that WVU has made more money in the Big 12 over the past decade than we would have in the ACC. We will make less after Texas and Oklahoma leave for the SEC. So if it works out for both parties going forward after 2025 that's great. But if it doesn't I'm not going to lose any sleep. If we could copy sec, We would. If we want sec, we should pursue. It’s revenue or watch members scatter.

Is it just the TV or the increased fanny's in the sands generated by WVU base. Routine packed houses at VT UVA Pitt (and even tobacco road). Also, generate excitement in a tea crumpet school. Exciting dramatic games, (introducing the crazy uncle into the living room and stand back) That generates much more interest in the region and therefore more desire to invest in football and better product and better revenues.

to make money. If the ACC is "exciting" (the ACC exciting?) it will bring interest. That is going to include VT UM FSU etc. May have to give up some per team $ - Maybe- but think not. ND will be around but not with ACC long term (whatever) so need to juice it up. IF you give folks like sportscasters something to talk about besides stuff akin to homilies at a funeral. They will talk about it-alot. Bring the sobs in.

Broken record who cares… It’s about the number what part of that is not clear

Arkansas & South Carolina were both wanted by the SEC just to create a Conference Championship Game. That CCG was a cash cow that created college football fan interest to an intensified level. All great for filling the SEC cash drawers. Texas A&M & Missouri were TV sets. Hard to beat Texas in numbers of college football fans and Kansas City & Saint Louis are both big media markets. Again more money for SEC cash drawers when TV contracts were negotiated. Texas & Oklahoma are big football brand names that will help in negotiating even bigger TV contract pay-outs. My question is what is left for the SEC? Do FSU & Clemson really move the meter on getting larger TV payouts in regards to their take? I really just see the states of Virginia & North Carolina and the populations their-in as moving the meter financially in future SEC expansion. That would be some combination of either UVA or VT & UNC or NCST. The SEC might see it necessary to take FSU & Clemson just to dislodge those other two from the ACC. I just don't see the SEC past history showing going beyond 20 schools. I think a 24 team SEC or B1G is a big mistake.

I think short of BIG expanding more west. The SEC is done. They will watch possibly ESPN shape the ACC for future thinking.

Which means they’ll go to at least 20. I just hope the ACC pulls ahead of the Big XII before they make it to 20. That way VT is still in a more regionally located home if we don’t make the cut for the SEC. But Jim Phillips will have to show he’s willing to cut somebody’s throat to do that. I don’t see it.

They do already have their sights on Virginia Tech and several more ACC schools as potential expansion targets if they should remain as left overs by the SEC & B1G. The ACC does need to get real aggressive right now on the expansion front to become the big player as the 3rd best conference. The Big 12 does think they have that role in the bag with that new Commish declaring he was open for business. I have heard that Commish has even stated that he is willing to help cut the cord for the Texas & Oklahoma exit after the 2023 season. Saying he wants them gone if that is what they want.

If the SEC is trying to create a collegiate version of the English Premier League for the Southeast Region, then it is possible that FSU and Clemson generate more "buzz" than UVA/UNC or VT/NC State even though UNC may have a bigger overall brand than FSU and Clemson (maybe even the two combined). If ESPN is using a model where a conference gets more money in states where it has a member physically located in said state, then adding 1 VA and 1 NC school should generate more money for the SEC than adding a second FL and SC school.
