Arkansas & South Carolina were both wanted by the SEC just to create a Conference Championship Game. That CCG was a cash cow that created college football fan interest to an intensified level. All great for filling the SEC cash drawers. Texas A&M & Missouri were TV sets. Hard to beat Texas in numbers of college football fans and Kansas City & Saint Louis are both big media markets. Again more money for SEC cash drawers when TV contracts were negotiated. Texas & Oklahoma are big football brand names that will help in negotiating even bigger TV contract pay-outs. My question is what is left for the SEC? Do FSU & Clemson really move the meter on getting larger TV payouts in regards to their take? I really just see the states of Virginia & North Carolina and the populations their-in as moving the meter financially in future SEC expansion. That would be some combination of either UVA or VT & UNC or NCST. The SEC might see it necessary to take FSU & Clemson just to dislodge those other two from the ACC. I just don't see the SEC past history showing going beyond 20 schools. I think a 24 team SEC or B1G is a big mistake.
