Landing Spot

Even if 8 wanted out, there is no guarantee they will land anywhere. It's not a given as to what the criteria is anymore. At one time it was media markets. Well Boston hasn't been a financial boom for ACC nor has Dallas for the Big 12, so that's probably not it anymore. Wins and losses are good, but until last year FSU wasn't setting the world on fire and they are being mentioned. Heck if it was wins/losses Wake Forest should be close to the top. So we are in a place of ultimate uncertainty and it's not looking great right now. Meanwhile the Pawl Finebaum's of the world continue to be smug and dismissive of anything not $SEC and to a lesser extent the BIG. Heck he was laughing today when he said the college playoff needs to change in 2 years and just take the top 12 and limit it to the $EC and BIG.

UVa 2002 08/04/23 05:57 PM ET
Miami is a national brand, doesn't matter how much they suck on the field
Vienna_Hokie 08/04/23 06:11 PM ET
Unfortunately they don't buy tickets to Miami's away games or their bowls.
EDGEMAN 08/04/23 10:15 PM ET

VT football despite recent records is a national brand.
knapnhokie 08/04/23 07:11 PM ET
We were, but I think that is fading fast if not gone
Vienna_Hokie 08/04/23 07:37 PM ET
Agree. Based on recent performance. Clemson is big dog. FSU is a poodle
VTBoar 08/04/23 06:05 PM ET
FSU and Miami are more valuable media properties than anyone...
Vienna_Hokie 08/04/23 06:15 PM ET
And go where?**

The CFP is fixin' to become the football version of a B1G-SEC Challenge.
Maroon Baboon 08/04/23 05:03 PM ET
Agree 1000000%.

there's nothing to negotiate. Nobody has any leverage at all.**
reestuart 08/04/23 04:54 PM ET
If you are the ACC why negotiate
Mercury 08/04/23 04:38 PM ET
It’s definitely headed that way…
HydrogenHokie 08/04/23 04:31 PM ET
Lol. The majority of acc schools are paid market
SpeakToDamien 08/04/23 05:11 PM ET
What?? who said anything about a conspiracy??
HydrogenHokie 08/04/23 06:21 PM ET
Market has nothing to do with on field performance, it's media draw
Vienna_Hokie 08/04/23 06:28 PM ET
Well I agree with that and never said otherwise, but on a national level
HydrogenHokie 08/04/23 06:43 PM ET
Stop, that's just being pedantic. UNC and Indiana would be a comparison
Vienna_Hokie 08/04/23 07:49 PM ET
Disagree about VT vs Minn marketability
Hardcore_Hokie 08/04/23 09:23 PM ET
If you are paid market, you have no options **
SpeakToDamien 08/04/23 06:23 PM ET
