In order of likelihood...

SEC -> Big12 -> Big10 -> Watered Down ACC. I have always thought the SEC would be the best athletic fit, despite a majority of VT students coming from the mid-atlantic / northeast. VT has an SEC feel more than a midwestern Big10. My preference has always been to go to the SEC as the ACC has always seemed unstable. If the Big10 does pickup FSU, Clemson, Oregon and Washington, then that is a very attractive conference where it would make me question if the Big10 or SEC was a more attractive fit. The key is to not be left out though, and I don't think anyone except UNC has a guaranteed seat. I'm very nervous if I'm Wake, Duke, Pitt, Syracuse, BC, or Louisville I'm watching with elevated concern if I'm NCSU, VT, GT, or Miami I'm probably fine if I'm UVA, Clemson or FSU, but no guarantees. I'm a lock to not be left behind if I'm UNC.

VT wouldn’t go to the SEC if UVA didn’t have a seat at the table.

P2, if the ACC folds VT & UVA would like to go to the same conference, but

That's my first choice and especially in the SEC. I think admissions

I think the real backing came from Mark Warner.

I tend to agree. This would be a superconference. Several crossover games
