This is an important factor because it is possible that a team scheduled to compete in the conference playoffs could have a bye the final week of the regular season and the remaining playoff teams forced to play a conference game. Does a bye the week before the start of the playoffs give a team a competitive advantage? All the FBS conferences seem to think so because currently you don't see any team with a bye week on the final week of the regular season.
