What's not to like about the 14-team playoff (4-4-2-2-1-1)?

I am fully convinced that the P2 wants the 14-team invitational where 5 or 6 SEC/BIG teams will be featured, and it may eventually happen. But for the immediate next step, 4-4-2-2-1-1 sounds promising. See what Dellinger said: *** In this specific 14-team proposal, the Big Ten and SEC would receive four automatic qualifiers each presumably determined through conference standings; two each for the ACC and Big 12; one for the best Group of Five champion; and one at-large, intended for Notre Dame if it finishes ranked inside the top 14 (or, if not, the next highest-ranked team after the automatic qualifiers are selected). Officials describe it as a 4-4-2-2-1+1 model, with the top two seeds receiving a first-round bye. *** Sankey, after this year's debacle, would want a certainty. The BIG already proposed 3-3-2-2-1-3. The 4-4-2-2-1-1 is a better version for them. Most likely the P2 champs will get gyes. I don’t think the B12 deserves two guaranteed bids but Yormark would absolutely take it, as the B12 doesn't have a dominant football brand. I think Phillips will take it, too. The good thing about this proposal is that the committee's role is limited to choosing one at-large school and the seeding. So, what's not to like about it?

Do they realize this sets up an inferior P2 bumping a superior team?

In their eyes the top 8 P2 teams are never inferior to a non P2 team. **

At least England and Spain did not set that up themselves.

Why are you peddling that P2 propaganda?

Everyone needs to remember the expanded playoff has nothing to do with...

I agree, so if it comes to 4-4-? IMO we opt out. Have our own play off.**

I'm OK with that as well. How much would their playoff payouts

I think they would go to 16 with the top seeds getting home

12 teams is already too many. They should have just gone with 8.**
