My belief on why UNC voted no...

* UNC has never championed expansion, as it disrupts their power in what they consider to be "their conference". * This expansion is short term cash play to get as much value today as possible, but the structure further destabilizes the ACC when the GOR gets closer to expiring. It was a long shot for the ACC to perform on the field and survive long term, but I think that it's even less likely now as 2 CA schools and 1 TX school is unsustainable. * The ACC with the NC cartel from the 80's is dead (or dying). I welcome the change as it: * Puts money in VT's pocket * Opens up some nice travel destinations * Hopefully shuffles the dreaded dedicated rival of Wake/Pitt * Humbles UNC

I would advocate punting BC and picking up WVA to strengthen the league.

I approach current planning with the notion that the ACC is dead in 2036.
Maroon Baboon 09/01/23 09:43 AM ET
Conferences will be dead by then. SEC and B1G included.
Hardcore_Hokie 09/01/23 09:52 AM ET
At least they will get good at removing teams.
Truthahn 09/01/23 10:23 AM ET
