The focus should be on holding institutions culpable, not the individual-

players. That's the only way any enforcement mechanism will have any teeth. Players who break the rules can sue whoever they want all they want to get their NIL money and retain their eligibility, but they cannot make schools put them on their rosters and play them, and if schools want to field players that violate the rules, they should suffer severe financial and competitive penalties that make it impossible to compete for a conference or national championship. Texas Tech wants to play Sorsby? OK, great. They can. But, per Big 12 competitive integrity and compliance rules, they forfeit every conference game they play, with no team stats and the final score of which will go in the books as a 7-0 win for their opponent, and are ineligible for the Big 12 championship game. If there are going to be rules, it's the only way to keep everyone in line. We're in the wild west now. The old BS of saying, "why should a bunch of innocent guys suffer because one guy did x, y, and z" are over. The "innocent guys" can transfer and play elsewhere without penalty if they want to. If we want rules, that's the cost.
