OK. That post of yours is

fascinating to me. The historical context can not be ignored, and the reasons as to why they did what they did in the &0's is not lost on me. Nor, am I qualified to really comment on those events, as to me, they were what they were. The reasons, as a fan, were less important, as really, none of the schools I was associated with were involved. That being said, I was young, and starting my college experience in 1980 in the Boston area. It was there that I established my non Indiana perspective on college athletics, but growing up in Indiana, it was always basketball back then, even with my association with ND (not a story I want to get into). Anyway, Xavier, Dayton, Indiana State, Even Duquesne University were part of my youth. Later Holy Cross, Boston University, and Boston College (all athletic associations) were all right there as things changed. I fully get the change, and understand, especially with the Eastern schools, that education was the catalyst for some of those changes. especially with the Patriot League. History has a way of repeating itself, and we may see another dramatic change once again, but it will not be academics this time, as the money is just too big. When you get into the bylaws, especially as it pertains to Division I, II, III, then the progression over the decades, you get beyond my pay grade. While it has always held my attention, it has always been from a perspective as a fan of the game, especially when I was younger. I claim to be a fan with an opinion, not an expert with knowledge of all things. Your posts intrigue me. Where do you think we end up in 2030?
