Your first line says it all, less schools MORE MONEY!!!

By the way, some on this board and other places underrate golf, because of the golf channel, there are many more tournaments on TV than NCAA tournaments. Also campus golf courses bring alumni and other donors for events and other small reunions. A lot of great partnerships are started on a golf course. VTScoop or QCP posted some numbers on sports net gain or losses. Football makes money, men’s basketball is around break even and the rest lose money. Golf lost much less than other sports, it loses about a million a year, while most other sports lose way more than that. Also, golf tends to get big donors to pay for things like Bill and Alice Goodwin donating money to have Pete Dye redo the Virginia Tech River Course, and donating money to have DL3 do Birdwood at UVA.
