Yep

That is the same campfire talk I got over Memorial Day Weekend from one of the NBC Sports Executives who I have known since high school. Doesn't mean it's going to happen. And you are also correct, he didn't know either. hehe. But that is what the networks desire it seems. The networks (NBC/FOX/CBS) are in approval should we say. It's Notre Dame. I am speculating (like everyone else) that the B1G wants a schedule deal with ND. The two have talked about this for a while. Again (repeat stuff), ND is not ready to give up football Independence. The ideal situation for the Irish would be to join the B1G with the same deal they have with the ACC. All sports, but only X amount of contracted league games in football. ND won't get that deal from the P2. So in essence, ND has only ONE option where they can set up X amount of contracted football games with the B1G. And that would be to join the Big East in all other sports. Don't need a source to deduce this simple logic.

INSIDE99 06/20/24 11:20 PM ET
ND can’t play football in a P2 conference & play other sports in the ACC…
BROman Hokie 06/20/24 12:13 AM ET
ND can be an independent in football and in the Big East for other sports**
TerryD 06/20/24 07:41 AM ET
Does the Big East sponsor as many sports as ND plays?**
Atlee Hokie 06/20/24 05:54 PM ET
Haven't looked but from 1995-2012 it did

They could also go to the B12 for a larger payout, and remain independent.
Big12 guy 06/20/24 08:23 AM ET
3 more ND games in the ACC was never going to save the conference. The ACC
Stech 06/20/24 04:05 PM ET
I would pencil that out before I would come to conclusions. The B12
