I would agree with that, and I'm a basketball nut. The Big East and

ACC were duking it out for the best BB conference for a couple of decades. Historically, it appeared that it would continue. After the demise of the Big East, there has been a real and measurable shift in the BB power structure, and the B12 is stronger in BB than it ever has been. The Big 10 gets a lot of press, and rankings, but like football, they always seem to be overrated. VT is a football school, hands down. There are fan bases that are as passionate about basketball as the VT fan base is about football - the difference is in the ratings on TV - and that the NCAA tournament actually does share the revenue across the board. Before the PAC faltered, the future for the B12 for revenue growth was clearly in BB, which is why the Zags and Huskies were being floated as add ons. It is still my contention that the B12's future as a power conference will be in basketball, and really competitive football. The b12 will never attract a Texas, ND, or a FSU type of football program - and frankly, y'all can have them. Uconn, Zaga, The Big east schools you guys want to boot, Nove, St. John's? I don't know how the basketball schools fit, but if they can find a way, The B12 will be cemented as a national conference for as far as the eye can see. I think some here are still holding out hope that the ACC becomes a Big 10 or a SEC. No offence, but maybe survival to fight another day should be a priority.
