I do think how the Big Ten or SEC determines the "value" of a potential

candidate could end up surprising a lot of people. One reason I brought up Miami is because every year ESPN seems to mention during its preseason coverage that 'Da U is back.' It has even become a running joke on TSL. Given that Fox and ESPN are writing the checks, I do thing both networks could have huge influences on what future expansion decisions the Big Ten and SEC make. If Fox wants Duke to be a member of the Big Ten, then I would be shocked if the Big Ten didn't make it happen. It also may force fans of schools on the potential fringe to ask themselves whether their school did enough when they were in the spotlight to merit being a member of the Big Ten or SEC. Particularly if said school is a good candidate under the cable model, but not as good of a candidate under the streaming model. Plus, if ESPN and Fox want to make sure their conference has ample year round sports coverage (vs. the decisions just being about football and basketball), then it could end up making strange bedfellows. For example, you could see the Big Ten add UCF and USF because FSU and Miami were off the table. ** Edited by VTHokie2000 at 5/18/2023, 10:05:48 AM
