If you listened to Big Ten de-facto realignment mouthpiece Greg Flugar,

he repeats that line incessantly as if it is a disclaimer. The team calls the conference first. "USC called Big Ten first." "USC called Big Ten first." "USC called Big Ten first." "USC called Big Ten first." "USC called Big Ten first." I'm not even saying it's false. But it's like a political talking point. The more you hear it repeated in the same exact manner, the more peculiar it sounds. It's a bit suspect now to say the least. It's as if they are just trying to prevent a lawsuit.
