Even if they are not officially a package deal, they could be unofficially

a package deal. Assuming the P2s want a member from both states for whatever reason. Honestly, I didn't think UVA had any plans for Scott Stadium in the works or even in the preliminary phase because right now there really isn't any need for it. However, I do know the expansion process typically starts by having informal conversations between a school and either a conference or other schools from the conference about the possibility of joining said conference in the future. I was thinking those conversations would be where any seed (i.e. stands on the hill, adding more luxury suites, etc.) is planted in UVA's head. Hence why I was curious if you thought UVA might try to be proactive before any formal announcement is made vs. waiting to join a P2 conference before undertaking any of those capital projects. Also, I thought UVA's other facilities were at P2 standards. Since football is driving the bus right now (perceptually speaking), I assumed it could end up being the deciding factor on whether a school receives a P2 invitation or not. Then again, the Big Ten and SEC may have different criteria that would be their "deciding factor" in regards to whether formally invite a school or not to join their conference.

Well, KU was vetted by the Big 10, rejected, then built a new stadium. **
Big12 guy 08/20/25 02:37 PM ET
True. I don't know if KU and UVA have similar priorities or not.
VTHokie2000 08/20/25 02:44 PM ET
I think the B1G would still take both or just UVA with someone else.**
