Eh, The SEC will get theirs

Minnesota, Purdue, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan State and Rutgers are not going to go into Florida and take recruits that SEC schools want. It’s just not happening. Michigan can’t even keep one of the best in state recruits Michigan has ever had from going to LSU. Rutgers can’t keep NJ recruits in state either. Detroit, as of 2023 was the city that had the most players on NFL rosters with 19. Many of those athletes didn’t go to a Michigan or Big10 school. Sauce Gardner was a Detroit city kid and went to Cinci. I’m fairly certain that the Big10 having FSU and Clemson will not influence kids that normally would go to SEC schools to go to the Big10. Under Rich Rodriguez, Michigan hit Florida hard. They went after Pahokee High School pretty hard. He was fired shortly there after. Will they draw some players? Sure, but not a ton.

Would Duke be a target for SEC expansion? How about VT or NCST?

Question for you as an SEC fan - do you think the SEC would ever move to

Why would the SEC jettison the only private school in the conference?
mrcaniac 06/21/24 10:07 AM ET
I think that "only one in a state" is bogus
VTCALS72 06/20/24 05:34 PM ET
I agree 1 state theory is living in the Cable Hookup model, it’s the past,
Stech 06/20/24 08:50 PM ET
The SEC does not have to play defense. the Big 10 is not a threat.**
Big12 guy 06/20/24 05:11 PM ET
Agree - at least in their current from the B1G isn't a threat.
VPI_1998 06/21/24 06:47 AM ET
I think the B1G is a long-tern threat to the SEC. So, which happens first?
Maroon Baboon 06/20/24 07:29 PM ET
What is long term?........

A decade or more. But keep in mind, it could be the other way around, too.**

The top Big 10 schools currently have zero problems recruiting in Florida.

They stay in the ACC IMHO, but it will be an Academic Conference Champions
