IMHO, ESPN doesn’t wont pay for schools, they have Texas & Louisiana in SEC
Consequently, they won’t bring that many new subscribers if they add them to the ACC. My first choice is for the ACC to compete money wise with the SEC and B1G, but that’s not going to happen IMHO. Right now ESPN is looking to cut cost. They want to get rid of small private schools with weak football followings, they do almost nothing for viewership. The bean counters are all about winning the numbers game.
I HATE to say it, but it’s time for the Mag 7 +1 to leave. I think the courts won’t hold up the GOR if the majority leave. I also hope that Virginia Tech, Virginia, North Carolina and North Carolina State go to the SEC together. I hate these Cross Country Conferences, they are an ABOMINATION for the student athletes. If those 4 go, the SEC has plenty of academic gravitas with them and the recent new members. I also think the sports they don’t have can find suitable homes, and maybe even grow those sports in the SEC.

#5 is key. You want schools that are excited to be in the conference.

I'm leaning that way. If we add those schools and stand pat until 2036,
