Under normal circumstances, I'd agree with you. But these aren't normal

circumstances. SMU is basically is saying they will play for free for 5-7 years, not taking a TV payout. In the interim, the ACC gets the ACCN into Texas. And after the 5-7 years are up, we probably only have to pay them 6-8 years until the 2036 contract expires; and at the point, the ACC is dead anyway. Maybe you are right and it still isn't worth the hassle. But I don't see this as the same thing as taking Vanderbilt.
