Missouri considers Illinois as a rival even though they

did not play year in and year out. They call it the Arch rivalry, and they get pretty fired up when they play Illinois. They are a much better fit in the Big 10, academically, culturally, and probably, athletically. While they are competitive in the SEC, and have held their own, they have not been accepted by the rank and file of the SEC. Just ask any South Carolina fan.
