Got to save public face when and if you break off. Unlike some here, I

think it’s more likely than unlikely, and sooner rather than later. The Auto Bids aren’t even the biggest thing they are going to ask for, wait until the revenue redistribution details come out. ESPN and Fox are mainly running the show since they write the checks, both of these issues are about making substantially more money for them to pay to the B1G and SEC, and of course to their companies. They want to run the show, and not the NCAA IMHO. I just don’t see how you stop them. By the way on that subject, you need enough states behind this. IMHO neither the state of Virginia or North Carolina will get behind this unless they take both of the larger state schools. That’s important if this goes to The Hill. I said it at least months ago, if not years ago, 48 schools is where I think they are going with the P2.

ESPN’s what happened at CFP meeting in Dallas. B1G & SEC desire 4 Auto bids

Could be up to 13 of 14 positions locked to the conferences

What you have is a stark contrast......

Definitely 2 very different perspectives, based on 2 very different models

And neither one cares about the fans

Auto-bids for non-champions is a bad policy.
Maroon Baboon 02/22/24 02:56 PM ET
Agree, but does it really matter?
SteveInBaltimore 02/22/24 08:35 PM ET
It’s hard for me to believe nonP2 would allow this, but maybe you want them
Stech 02/22/24 03:41 PM ET
Even if I was the SEC and B1G I wouldn't want it. It's just lame.**

It's a bargaining chip. They don't really expect to get 4 guaranteed spots
tarheelblue 02/22/24 04:03 PM ET
Could be, I think we will find out sooner rather than later.**
Stech 02/22/24 04:08 PM ET
ACC should agree to this as long as both P2's grow to (24) each ;-)**

Haha, but those that believe they will be included will probably do that.

USA Today “hated it” version of CFP meetings
