UL's rivals outside UK are Cincinnati and Memphis

I think Cincinnati would probably fit the ACC better than Memphis. One of the benefits of adding WVU and Cincinnati are pulling in rivalries. I think Cincinnati could develop one with Pittsburgh too. It's the thing that fans want to watch. I can tell by hanging around this board that the Hokies want another rivalry game on the schedule. WVU would do it. Boston College and Wake Forest don't really cut it. Miami apparently didn't want it. I know that WVU fans see VT as a rivalry game. UVA has two UNC and VT. Maryland was somewhat, but we can live without that one. Now I don't know what the ACC Presidents are doing, but they need to do something. They need to spice up the interest in this league. Going and getting teams with no historical familiarity has risk. If we do that we need two that already have a rivalry of their own like 2 from Texas. Just my opinion. I'm not being consulted.

I think the ACC is better off without Notre Dame, this 1/2 arse agreement

When Notre Dame was accepted in the ACC for all sports but football...

The ACC needs better football rivalries and 9 conference games
hokieZ71 08/12/22 08:05 PM ET
Add a 9th ACC game and make the ND games count in the ACC standings

I'd normally have no interest in Louisville vs. Cincinnati, BUT

Maybe I'm showing my age, but I always loved watching the rivalries

You nailed the scheduling part, the neutral game sites have been SEC sites
Stech 08/12/22 07:45 PM ET

Give me Miami Virginia Tech over an occasional Notre Dame game, it'd be
Stech 08/12/22 05:45 PM ET
Will not argue with Miami (damn) or desire to play ND more. Don't leave

Hard to believe Miami chickened out on us.**

Good. I'll have no sympathy for UM when we get an SEC invite and they don't
Maroon Baboon 08/12/22 09:31 PM ET
Agreed. ND is a much more interesting game than 90% of P5 schools
HokieAl 08/12/22 05:28 PM ET
Covid wiped out the game
WarHog38 08/12/22 10:04 PM ET
It's a fun game, but we don't play them again for 5 years!! That's to long!
Stech 08/12/22 05:49 PM ET
That's if they are still affiliated with the ACC.
EDGEMAN 08/12/22 06:29 PM ET
Agreed, nothing is a given these days.**
