I can only speak for some in the B12. they

will never be the "big brand" that gets invited to the P2. If those schools try, it would take decades, and the infrastucture for doners that the blue bloods enjoy is just not there, and will never be there. It's a fools errand, and it's like saying that a BYU will be a ND some day in the future. It won't matter if they win 3 national championship in a row, and out spenf the Irish for the next 25 years, they will never be in the class of ND. That, however, does not mean thay can't compete for national championships, fill their stadiums, and have a ton of people watch their games. will they get the eyeballs of the Ohio States and ND's during the regular season? Not a chance in hell. Could they beat tOSU and ND on the field? without a doubt in my mind. Find the revenue to pay the players, use the transfer portal to your advantage - with yout new coach and some on field success there is no reason VT couldn't be the next Indiana. They, however, will still not be a blue blood like ND.

Do you feel that this is a trial run for many programs not in the P2?

Could Indiana still have "overachieved" without the Big Ten money though?

You’re leaving out IU’s Mark Cuban money. Also, billionaire Ken Griffin

VTHokie2000 02/04/26 08:35 PM ET
Wait. You guys just paid big money to hire a coach without P2

A reason VT and UNC made the coaching decisions is because they are trying
