Is a big question. Certainly damages to the remaining schools would take a settlement the size you mentioned. but is that what the GOR does? It seems the GOR only lays claim to home games. So, how does the ACC collect on that? I think that is actually FSU et al strongest point. They will owe something but how much and how can it be collected is murky at best. A lot was made about the claim that once a team leaves, the GOR responsibility dies but to me that is a very bogus claim as that is a covenant in the agreement between ESPN and the ACC and does not reach the 3rd parties who are not signors to the Agreement. So then if the Media Rights deal is between ACC, holding essentially Power of Attorney for the individual teams, then what is in the Media Rights contract pretty much has to mean ESPN is not in any way responsible for collection once a team leaves. That leaves collection in the hands of the ACC and the ACC alone. That could be years of going after judgements etc.
