They'll offer the Big East and minor conferences across the board lucrative money to join their basketball tournament. Big East, except UConn, doesn't have football so they won't worry about that. They'll invite Kansas and North Carolina (and maybe Duke too) to the Big 10 or SEC. That will be enough basketball brands that the bluffers will have to crater. Where it might be successful is if the Big 12, ACC, and Big East join forces with a financial contract ("alliance") in basketball, probably football, and maybe other sports. Not every contract is foolproof. The ACC has a near lock solid GOR and FSU is still challenging it.
