Ok in college football power 5 SEC that is not a criteria

That ship has gone along time ago. Its branding marketing, TV shares and what market is all about. and guess what those criteria are measured by the conference leaders, and the media who dole out the TV rights or they dont. Right now, athletic programs are being tossed around or left out only by 'who they are and locale I.e. oregon state and Wash St) not by some small business in corvallis or pullman. yes its a shame.. but at the big picture 'nation sees college football SEC, and BIG 10 and rest are in open spaces and they still get good ratings and the nation still gets the buzz ... and the rest are left behind... So if ACC can be pragamatic and take these schools, grab some money and hang on. so what....

Is there a time crunch for Stanford/Cal to make a conference decision?**

I don’t know, he says there is a soft deadline this week, whatever that
Stech 08/28/23 08:57 AM ET
Has to be as Pac will be down to 4 teams at this time next year. Correct?**
VintonHokies 08/28/23 08:11 AM ET
I assume that is why they are saying it is only a weak left to decide.
132863Hokie 08/28/23 08:18 AM ET
Let’s be clear, he said I “feel” like there’s a soft decline CF week 1**

People acting like $72 million in new money (adding the 3 teams) is nothing

WFU 20-19 in the ACC last 5 years

Then pay them accordingly, that’s the point.
Hardcore_Hokie 08/28/23 09:40 AM ET
The money is only TV money. Doesn't help local businesses, etc.

I agree with what you are saying. But if the payout is only a little more,

TV money is all this whole thing is about. Envy of SEC/B1G media deals.
Hardcore_Hokie 08/28/23 08:08 AM ET
If you are looking at it from the colleges, there are other considerations.

My take- take the the schools for short term and run

~$100M with added ACCN revenue.**
hokieZ71 08/27/23 11:21 PM ET
Yeah exactly. Adding Texas and California is a huge deal.
Hardcore_Hokie 08/27/23 11:35 PM ET
I'd be fine using the whole $72m for incentives.
Maroon Baboon 08/27/23 10:33 PM ET
Yes, but you still have to cover the increased travel costs**
EDGEMAN 08/28/23 04:37 AM ET
Exactly. $72million is a ton of money if it’s results-based
Hardcore_Hokie 08/27/23 10:49 PM ET
Better yet, do it as a cumulative jackpot💲for winning the MNC.
Maroon Baboon 08/27/23 11:11 PM ET
Make it a performance league. Wins/Ratings/Attendance to get paid.
Hardcore_Hokie 08/27/23 11:54 PM ET
Agreed. And seems likely it's about $40mm net
