I particularly enjoyed the VT UVA games in the seventies. Both teams sucked, it was usually in october, wonderful fall. Go to UVA, and all the attendees in coat and ties, the hill packed, both fan bases been sipping bourbon all day. Then the old 'snarky' UVA band throwing barbs during the game, and VT band coming back (love the year when some corp members went after the UVA drill major who was dressed light Col Sanders with the turkey leg). I remember one year near Halloween we put some pumpkins on top of the statue of Mr jefferson, . All good times. no one in the nation knew about it or cared. It was a truly Virginia thang.
