WRT Clemson, where is the campus located in relation to majority of its fan base (think distance and travel time) and large cities? Now compare that scenario with VT. Given where UVA and VT are located within the state and their fan base, if the two campuses swapped locations, then do you think VT would be closer to Clemson or UVA in terms of attendance? My point is that if VT was located in Charlottesville, then Lane Stadium could easily be similar in size to Clemson's football stadium and VT may have no problem averaging 10-12K in attendance for home basketball games because of how close the city is to NOVA, Richmond, and the 757.
