I really don't understand this desire for mediocrity some fans have.

VT isn't the only name program that's struggled the last few years. This stuff goes in cycles. Where was Clemson in the 90s? They were part of "8 dwarfs" in the "FSU and the 8 dwarfs" version of the ACC. Now where is FSU? What's happened once can happen again, but you have to be in the game to win the game.
