Some NFL teams had affiliations with

Continental Football League teams in the 1960s (Richmond Rebels, Norfolk Neptunes, Long Island Jets etc). Didn't really work at all, CoFL folded in 1969. If college football morphs into some kind of half-assed NFL minor league it suffers badly, I think.
