For Tech, the ACC has always been their final destination since 1953. It took 50 years to finally get in. Arkansas left the Southwest Conference for the SEC (which was a smart move since the SWC died 5 years later) but has never had to roam the college conference affiliation desert like Tech. SoCon, Independent, Metro/Independent, Metro/BEFC/EWL, A-10/BEFC/CAA, Big East/CAA/EWL and finally the ACC. IMHO, that's why there are so many "ACC homers" on this board. If I had my wish, I'd love to see the ACC remain intact. It fits Virginia Tech's culture and it has many close by rivalries. Too bad Maryland and USC-E left because they fitted right in. I'd rather have had WVU instead of Louisville duirng the last ACC expansion. I, personally, don't want Tech to roam looking for another conference again.
