when the goal of the "package deal" language, was to increase the bargaining power. It REALLY hurts UVA, and that's why, despite the fact that VT would have been called a bunch of mercenary *****s back in 2011 if we had gone for Missouri's SEC spot, UVA would be free to go along with UNC now. Stop with that, "we didn't have an official invite" garbage. A&M wanted us with them and the SEC even leaked it to the radio to see if it would get our administration to move and it still didn't work. Does anyone think that the either the Big10 or SEC wants TWO Virginia schools in the current environment? I don't. If this "package deal" talk is to pressure the SEC to invite us at the expense of UVA, then I am for it. I could see it turning out that way, because I think VT has a lot more clout in VA than UVA does, but once again, I think that was the case back in 2011. If UVA's feathers had been ruffled because we went SEC, it would have been temporary. In the present situation, it seems a long shot to think that the VA politicians would do something that would help us, but would also harm UVA so much, if we got pulled into the SEC and they got shut out. I hope someone knows what they are doing, because every time I've pointed this out since 2011, with the hope that things are being done behind the scenes that are effective, it turns out they aren't. The Swofford element might have been the worst part and I think that give FSU some ammo in their lawsuit. It's hard to say that things haven't been mismanaged on so many fronts. My guess is that the SEC would prefer UNC and VT to UNC/UVA, but that UNC strongly wants to block us.
