It went defunct in about 1900 regardless of whether it's still open.

Virginia Intermont College in Bristol closed in 2014 after operating for 130 years. A year before that, St. Paul’s College in Lawrenceville closed in 2013 after 125 years.

it’s been quite a long time since one actually closed. Everyone in Bristol remembers VI closing, and it is a pretty regular topic of conversation.

Averett and King were the two pursing him, and for a long time it looked like he would end up at Averett. Luckily, he and King found each other late in the process and he fell in love. At the time, it felt like a mistake to Mom and and but it turns out King is EXACTLY where he was supposed to be.
