Any other major team or contender had this happen to them, they would play the player. We should play Balogun if he's available and if he's a better option than what we have available on the bench(I bet he is). All of the loudest voices screaming about this would do the EXACT same thing and play their guy.

They need to have a process where a panel reviews the red card On The Spot (immediately after the call during the game.) The idea of changing a call 2 or 3 days later is Begging for Problems. We are already seeing that. It doesn't matter what kind of "process" is out in place after the game that allows for the call to possibly be overturned because that process, no matter how buttoned up or regimented or scientific WILL BE influenced by politics and political power. It will get to the point where you have 2000 people showing up at FIFA headquarters and protesting and fans hackling the Officials at FIFA to where that pressure has major influence. And for a team like Ivory Coast which has less influence and is a long way from Europe, their calls will not be as likely to be reversed. It will be a **** show

Meet daily during the tournament and go over ALL red card offenses and uphold the punishment by the on field ref or strip the suspension part.

This is why I don't want them to have an additional day or 2 days or 3 days after the game to be able to be corrupted even more with deciding whether to overturn or keep a red card call from 2 days ago. A **** ton of money has surely already changed hands in those 24 or 48 hours.

Sure, but they no doubt felt they had provided ample opportunity to determine if a call on the pitch was correct. Has any player or nation ever been happy with a red card? Not likely.

Reviews aren't used to determine if a red card should be issued. Until now, that determination is decided by the ref on the field, not the refs in the replay booth.
